DEVLOG - Testing
When watching others test Ghost escape, I was not surprised to see that the biggest struggle they had in the game was the striker ghosts. This was because they were too fast and there were to many of them for the player to either destroy or dodge. When also looking at the comments from the testers all of them were focused on how hard these ghosts made the game. Whist also watching the testers play I was able to also notice that no one was able to obtain a key, again due to these ghosts. It also occurred to me that when players get all the keys there is no way for them to actually know for a fact that they do.
To reduce the difficulty the striker ghost had on the game I first reduced the spawn rate on all the spawners, certain spawners were reduced further due to small spaces or more spawners in that area. I also reduced the ghosts follow speed and dash speed. This allows the player to get away, but they will still have to worry about them if not destroyed. I also reduced the radius that these ghosts can dash at the player. A message has also now been included so that people now know that they have all the keys. This was included into the canvas but is turned on when the key count is increased to three.
To improve my testing session, I would have included more questions into the feedback form. I would have also tried to get more people to test out the game for a wider range of comments.
